Cosplayer u/kazumii_ss posted their portrayal of Chainsaw Man's enigmatic and soft-spoken Makima on Reddit. They styled their red hair into Makima's customary braid and draped it over one shoulder. Eyes lined with black mascara to accentuate their orange-gold eyes and donning the Public Safety Devil Hunter's uniform of a simple white button-up, black tie and her long black overcoat, kazumii_ss's Makima cosplay is absolutely magnetic, instantly drawing people in. While the cosplayer is only a year into their career and has declared themselves a beginner, their Makima cosplay is picture-perfect.
kazumii_ss Cosplays a Wide Variety of Characters
In their first year of cosplaying, kazumii_ss has cosplayed as Kaguya Shinomiya from the romance comedy Kaguya-sama: Love is War. They've also portrayed Jabami Yumeko from Kakegurui -- Compulsive Gambler and even improvised their cosplay for Shikimori-san from Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie. One of their cosplays, close to the beginning of their career, was their portrayal of their favorite character, priestess Kikyo from Inuyasha.
Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man series debuted in December 2018 in Weekly Shōnen Jump and has over 20 million copies in circulation as of November 2022. The series follows 16-year-old Denji, who has the ability to turn into the Chainsaw Man at the pull of the cord in his chest, courtesy of his best friend the Devil dog Pochita. The first person he meets when he awakens is Makima, head of Tokyo Special Division 4 from the Public Safety Devil Hunters. For Denji, who has, for years, only known death, pain and humiliation, Makima's attention and care were like a balm to him, and he instantly fell for her.
